Job seekers
- Free for you. Signing up and being contacted about jobs is free. Nobody may ask you to pay money or airtime, or for your bank PIN, to get a job through us. If someone does, it's a scam. Please tell us.
- What we keep: your name, cell number, email (if given), area, the work you want, licence, school grade, job status and language, plus your referral code and the code of the friend who invited you (if any). We do not ask for your ID number and we never save your exact location.
- Why: to contact you about jobs, training, learnerships and stipend programmes that suit you.
- Who sees it: only our team. We show your profile to checked employers and recruitment agencies only if you ticked the sharing box on the sign-up form.
- Storage: your details are stored securely with Google (Google Sheets), whose servers may be outside South Africa. We keep them while you are looking for work, and delete them if you ask us to or after 24 months with no contact. We never sell your details.
- Your rights: you can ask to see, fix or delete your details, or change your mind, at any time. You can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
Employers
- No fees from candidates, ever. You may not ask candidates for any money, airtime or other payment, including registration, training, uniform, medical or "admin" fees. Jobs that do are removed, and we may report them.
- Real jobs only. Every listing must be a real, open job with honest pay and conditions. We may check your company before your job goes live, for example by calling you, looking up your CIPC registration, website or Facebook page, or asking for proof that the business exists.
- We may refuse or remove listings that are fake, misleading, unlawful, discriminatory, pyramid or "investment" schemes, or that break these terms, and we may block the employer.
- Candidates' details. If we send you a shortlist or people apply to you, use their details only to fill this job, keep them safe, and delete them when you no longer need them, as POPIA requires. Don't pass them on to anyone else.
- Your details: we keep your company and contact details and your listings to check you, publish and manage your jobs and contact you about them. Only our team sees your contact details, unless you choose to receive applications on WhatsApp or by email, in which case that number or address is shown with the job.
- Price: your first job listing is free. We'll tell you the price of any later listing before you are charged anything.
